To participate in Holo's ICO, you will need an Ethereum wallet to from which to send us ether and into which to receive your HoloTokens. We can't provide you direct support setting up an Ethereum wallet. However, there are many online resources about Ethereum wallets.
We recommend you use MetaMask as a wallet to participate in the Holo ICO. MetaMask attaches to your browser and enables you not only to manage and create Ethereum accounts, but also to interact with blockchain-based distributed apps (dApps) on webpages. Our ICO site uses a dApp to make sending payments easier and more secure.
Please see this great guide on how to set up and use MetaMask.
Second recommended wallet
If you can't use MetaMask for some reason, use MyEtherWallet. The first time you visit their site there are several messages about how cryptocurrency wallets work, and how to stay safe when sending and holding cryptocurrency. It is important to read and understand these messages.
Here is a to a good guide on how to set up and use MyEtherWallet.
And here is the link to MyEtherWallet.com's documentation, which contains a VERY LARGE AMOUNT of documentation related to safely and effectively using MyEtherWallet.
Using a hardware wallet like Ledger or Trezor
Hardware wallets like Ledger Nano S or Trezor wallets are not really wallets. Really, they are security measures that allow you to access a wallet without your private security information ever making its way onto a computer where it could be stolen. To use a hardware wallet to participate in our ICO, you will need to create an account on your hardware, and then open it in a wallet which supports ERC20 tokens like MyEtherWallet. We recommend using MyEtherWallet as it has integrated support for both Ledger Nano S, and Trezor hardware wallets.
