The Holo software will be open sourced after we make sure it's architecture is stable and secure.
Holo's software will always be publicly auditable, but during the initial period when the ecosystem is first developing, Holo will not be open-source. This acts to prevent premature forking before the system becomes robust. We don't want tons of "crap-coin" Holo fuel clones to come out right away, before we've had a chance to make sure that Holo is secure and stable, and make any adjustments that are needed.
Then, once things have settled into a rhythm and the ecosystem is running, we'll make Holo's software open source so that more mutual credit, asset-backed cryptocurrencies can be created!
Holochain, however, is and has been open source from the beginning.
